We are pleased to have completed the joinery fit-out package for the Grains Student Accomodation located on the corner of Heathcote Street and High Cross Street in Hockley, Nottingham.

Sev were appointed to manufacture and install the kitchen units, desk, wardrobe and beds for this 68 bedroom premium student accomodation.

Working closely with the developer Carlton Street Trading Company the brief was to supply a premium and durable finish for the student furniture.

The kitchen & wardrobe fronts are finished in Egger PerfectSense Premium Matt U961 graphite grey finish with its advantages of anti-fingerprint and antibacterial surface properties. Other finishes included the U961 graphite grey woodgrain, H3170 Natural Kendal Oak and White Carrara Marble F204.

Although there is a common theme for the design, look and feel for the room furniture, these were tailored to suit the size and layout of each room with desks and breakfast bars bespoke to individual rooms.

From Model Shop to Model Student Accommodation

The building formerly operated as a sewing machine factory, first trading out of the site in 1939 and then opening another business, Gee Dee Models opening in the ground floor unit of the building.

The model shop was forced to close in 2019 and the building has been vacant ever since, until work started on the new Grains Student Accommodation.

Carlton Street Trading have faith in Nottingham and are working on several developments across the city.
